Manaiakalani Film Festival

                               Manaiakalani Film Festival                              On Wednesday 13 November we went to the Manaiakalani Film Festival at Sylvia park movie. My buddy was Desiree I went on the bus with her she wanted to go to the back to see lots of people and cars but we did not get there because we were too late. We talked most of the way there. 
When we got to Sylvia Park we lined up and then we started to walk to the movies. It was hot in the bus and even when we sat down in the movies.
The movie started. Some of the movies were funny. My favourite film was Room 7's at St Patrick's.  There were other schools there like Tamaki College and Point England and Panmure Bridge. When we got back to the bus Desiree and I got to the top at the back and it was so cool at the movies. I had fun.

Real or Fake

In cyber smart we were learning about Real or Fake. This is our work there is a Tigerlion and a new variety of lemon... do you think they are Real or Fake?

Bird of the year

Today the bird of the year is the Hoiho for New Zealand.

1. Hoiho is the largest penguin...they can grow to a height of up to 75 cm.

2. They are long living sometimes they live for 20 years .

3. They are only found in New Zealand and there are not many of them...they have yellow eyes.

On the weekend I went to the park with my brother and my granddad and baby brother and my Mum.First I went to the swing and I was swinging high and I jumped off, then my brother who is 5 tried it and he did it! My baby brother went on the baby swing and my mum pushed him. It was fun going to the park.

Last Friday we went down to our garden. We all had one plant each. When we got there our teacher was talking to us - she said we have to mix the soil up. We found so many earth worms and some of them were long and some were short. Then we got our plants and tapped them softly on the bottom and we made a hole for them to go in. Then we took the plant out and put it in the hole and covered it with more soil and we put the names on the sides of the garden. Then we went back to class.

Today Nicky from the Asb visited us and we learned about money and saving and having dreams. She said how we can make them come true and our goal is to plan. We need money to help us and we must save.
She said that there was a boy who did not have lots of money so he said to his neighbours that he will take their bins out and bring them in at the end of the day. So he got lots of money. Sonasi and Sililo  and  and Nino  were helping her. Sonasi put his money in the bank and Nino put his money in a box and Sililo put his under his bed but Sonasi had lots and lots of money because the bank gave him interest.

Today  we made a tower out of 12  spaghetti sticks and 8 marshmallows and we had to get into groups. It was for cyber smart and I made a plan with my friend, Erich which was hard because we only had 10 minutes to plan.
Our plan did not work out for us so we made another one by talking to each other. We had 4 marshmallows  on the ground and 4 sticks going up. I felt scared that it will fall but it didn't fall and we showed peaceful work together and it was 20cm high and we got to eat the our tower afterwards.

For cybersmart me and my class did a slide about kindness. it was hard but I did it. I helped some year 4 with theirs and we watched oat the goat. I shared it to my teacher and I put images on my slide and I did a background. It was colourful like a rainbow.

St Patrick's Day by Leonie

    St.Patrick's Day🍀🍀🍀🌈🌈🌈🌦🌦                        

On Monday it was st. Patrick's Day.First we went to church and sing beautiful songs to god and say prays to God after the room 8 went to the little kids and play with then a little bit.

Then it was morning tea we play fun games.After we played fun games the bell ring.Then we went under the shade then we got put in our teams to play the fun games.First we went to room 1 then room 2 then room 6 then room 7 and room 8.

After that we went under the shade we had ice-block after the ice-block  it was lunchtime I love my lunch then the bell ring I went to my class room and we made something for St.Patrick's day then the bell ring to go home It was fun to day

Malo e lelei. My name is Leonie and I am 8 years old.  My teachers name is Miss Agnew  I am in Year 5 at St Patrick’s Catholic School in Panmure. I am the eldest in my family, I have two younger brothers and the youngest of whom is a baby.  I am good at writing at school because I have good ideas and I like writing stories. At school I find my maths hard sometimes, but his year I will work harder at my maths and get better at it.  My family inspires me to be kind and caring towards others.
